How to represent my art in art galleries

Okay, my friends say am good at painting things and really putting my imagination on to the canvas. I have been able to sell my paintings to people who love art. People who were really loved my painting (or was it the frame they loved more and ended up buying both).

Which ever way I was the soul creator of that piece of art. And I deserve he respect for it. Am I ready to showcase my art in the art galleries? Yes I am.

Now comes the tuff part.

1. How to get my painting in to the galleries?
2. What are the steps and procedures that I need to follow before doing that?
3. How do I know about the upcoming art galleries in my locality?
4. They said come after 6 months. What does it mean?
5. They said they will call you for the next gallery and they didn’t. What does it mean?

Important Points to know about Paintings

1. How to get my painting in to the galleries- Now this depends upon the gallery you’re planning to showcase your art at. Firstly make sure where you want to see your art at this point of time. Lets accept the fact that our paintings can’t be showcased in The Louvre in Paris or in the National Arts Gallery in Washington DC(or lets accept there is not enough space left in there) and aim at the local art galleries. Look at the places where you can get info about the upcoming art galleries. Newspapers usually publish about the art galleries on the event day itself. Go attend it as a commoner and get the visiting cards, make friends with the most unvisited artist(as he will be happy to reply to your queries), and the organization which is doing it. Look at the organizations history a little bit. Make customized doc for each gallery.
   
2. Steps and procedures- usually in the local market very less procedures and terms are forced upon the artists. They just want your paintings to be yours. I mean they shouldn’t have to face any copyright or any legal issues. Make sure your doings things on your own with your own creativity. If you think the painting you have made is a huge and going to make lots of heads turn in the art market means make sure you go through the copyright documents. Or if you’re not financially capable to do it through legal ways I have another option for you. Go through the poor man’s copyright in google. It may or may not be considered lea in your country.
   
3. To know about the upcoming art galleries first get into the art circle in your neighboring places. Know the artists as much as possible you will know about your art more. Build the circle my suggestion lead it. If you’re the head you’re the one who will get the info first than any. Get into online art selling websites like Indianartkart.com.
   
4. If they tell you to come after 6 months it means they are not so satisfied with your work. Don’t be sad and don’t avoid them take it as a challenge and go back after few months and if they accept you than it gives you immense satisfaction.
   
5. If they said they will call you next time and they didn’t means they were full this time. Don’t wait for them to call up. They will call you only if they have no other option. Keep on enquiring about the developments and follow it up… all the best….
